Training Program Assistant: 10 hours per week
Youth Program Assistants: 8-20 hours per week; evening availability required

Description of Organization
Center on Halsted (COH) is Chicago's premiere lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) destination. Once inside, you'll find an entertainment venue, an organic grocery store, a café, more than a dozen community service partners, a technology center, a gymnasium, a theater and a number of other unique gathering spaces that house Center programs and services to the LGBT community.

Type of Project(s)
Training Program Assistant
In conjunction with COH Training Coordinator:

  • Assess training needs of a variety of agencies and organizations re: LGBT competence and LGBT and Domestic Violence issues

  • Create tools to evaluate training programs

  • Develop process to manage flow of training requests

  • Research fees other agencies charge for training

  • Conduct assessment of current staff competency to provide training 

Youth Program Assistant
Work with youth in Youth Program Drop-in

  • Conduct groups as needed during youth program hours

  • Enforce program rules and responsibilities

  • Conduct intakes with new youth
