Multicultural Consideration Dinners

Multicultural Consideration Dinners provide opportunities for members of The Chicago School Community to come together over a meal and discuss multicultural issues as communicated by a speaker.  The speaker will present on a particular topic of interest followed by an opportunity to have a reflective discussion, facilitated by a faculty member while sharing dinner.  The following are the dates and themes of the Spring 2008 Multicultural Consideration Dinners:

Tuesday, 1/22 “Disproportionate Minority Program: Why are there so many ethnic minorities in the criminal system?”; Speaker: Dr. Miquel Lewis

Wednesday, 2/20 “Panel of Americans: The changes in understanding and construction of the notion of ‘American’"; Speaker: Dr. Paul Larson

Tuesday, 3/5 “Internalized Oppression: How does it impact our practice of psychology, the ways in which we relate to others?”; Speaker: Tamba-Kuii Bailey

Wednesday, 4/9 “Reflections of Social Services in Guatemala”; Speaker: Dr. Ellis Copeland
